My Multiply Wish List
I wish my Multiply In Box would be a little more programmable! I want to read every one of my contact's blogs. I do not want to miss the ones that are posted on a day or so that I'm not online. But I don't want my In Box to be constantly full of comments that have been added to blogs. Seems to me that Yahoo360 was easier to manage. And so is MySpace, for that matter. I can "subscribe" to the blogs I don't want to miss. Does anybody have any tips? Am I doing something amiss here with my settings?

Yep.. go in and do a CUSTOM filter! Only for friends blogs.. and don't click for when it's commented upon. That's how I find most of my friend's blogs.. is via that personalized filter that I've done. After I've read ALL blogs.. then and only then.. do I look at some of the other stuff they may have posted like recipes and reviews.
ReplyDeleteGo to Inbox.. click the CUSTOM.. above all ofthe enties..
ReplyDeleteCustom FILTER
People in your Network: You X Contacts X
Filter by Type: (use the pulldown menu.. and use ONLY blogs) also.. check the ONLY unread.
Save Filter As: (type a name.. like friend's blog filter)
Anytime you want JUST this filter.. click the custom.. and you'll have a few to choose from.. just click on the FRIEND'S BLOG FILTER name.. and POOF! That's all you will have in your inbox view!
You can subscribe to specific threads, I'd have to look into it to remember how ... and you can filter incoming posts. In fact, there's a lot of ways you can customise your inbox, if you know how (or who to ask for help) :)
ReplyDeleteview from the online inbox then, [put it on your top 'Favourites' or on your top toolbar [easy with Firefox], so you click on it and reach it in a second], rather than e-mail inbox
ReplyDeleteas you only get the blog title and a short summary underneath
you don't get e-mails for the comments and only see them when you click on the title.
this sounds like a good idea never have used or tried thanks.
ReplyDeleteWhat a coincidence! I was just thinking how I need to find a way to make it so that I'm alerted to the blogs that are posted. I get email alerts for some and not for others. It drives me nuts. :)
ReplyDeleteIf there are blog entries that you know you don't want to follow up, you can delete them from your Inbox. Have you set your preferences so that you can delete and "pin" blogs to the top? I usually pin my current blog to the top so I don't have to go looking for it. Same with PMs. And if there is a blog on a topic I'm not interested in, or somebody posts a music video I'm not interested in listening to, I delete it so it doesn't clutter up my Inbox.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the tips, everyone!
