Death Sucks

Seriously! Sin & Death sucks.  Every facet thereof sucketh.

I could talk like that to Josh & Amy.

Probably even to Pastor Fleming.

But some people think I oughta be more genteel.

Death is not genteel.

It sucks.

Just so you know.

  1. Thought I would un-private this old blog from June. Grief makes you think it's not common-to-man. Nothing unique, though, about feeling to the very bone that death sucks. I'm doing better somewhat now. But my opinion as stated in this blog still stands. And it needs to be said.

  2. Death does suck, there's nothing pleasant or honourable or noble about it. It's a parting of ways, and that sucks. If pain is involved, it sucks even more.

  3. oh, you're absolutely right, Rani, having people you love die is horrible and painful and awful and yes, it sucks, definitely. it shouldn't be allowed. we're meant to live forever. this isn't how it was meant to be, and it's absolutely appalling. I lost my sister back in 1996 and it still feels like this - not all the time, it's less raw now, but every once in a while it hits me and the feeling is: it is not okay, it is never going to be okay that she died.

  4. Although I agree with you on this, there are still honourable ways in which one can die.

Saving a life at the expense of your own.

Our military men who put their lives on the line each day to allow us to say and do and think as we choose.

Seppuku was also considered for centuries an honourable way to die, but instead of any detail here, I just offer a site to look into.

Death is the true final frontier, we as individuals finally attain. Yes it is painful, for those still alive, but for the one who leaves us behind, their pain is no more.

I've come to the point in my life that I celebrate my mother's death as much as I do her birth, for she lived how she chose, and died as she wanted. It still pains me after 15 years, but I get better with each year passing.

  6. PS.. it's pure love.. and beautiful.. nothing to fear.. NOTHING at all! It's very hard to come back.. once you've tasted the nectar.

  7. Bill & Mama Bear - I wrote this a couple days after my 31-year-old son was killed by a hit-and-run driver. Wasn't talking about lack of faith in afterlife. Was talking about this side. I had left this post (and others I've done since then) set to private, for nobody to see. Last night, when I read through it, I thought Oh What the Heck, let my friends see it.

  10. Rani - I agree Death is horrible - especially for us who are left behind. The Bible itself calls Death an enemy. One of the blessings we'll receive when the Lord comes again is - NO MORE DEATH! God bless you.
